A new balance update in Anime Vanguards has completely reworked Lord of Shadows’ All Range Atomic ability.
Once underwhelming, this ability is now one of the strongest full-map nukes in the game—thanks to a powerful new damage scaling system and a series of important bug fixes.
All Range Atomic Is Now Full Map
The All Range Atomic ability now hits all enemies on the map, making it significantly more useful for wave clearing and late-game content. Players no longer need to rely on positioning to activate its full power.
This change alone dramatically increases Lord of Shadows’ viability in leaderboard runs and raids.
New Damage Scaling – Swap-Based Multiplier
The way damage is calculated has been completely redesigned:
- Damage now scales based on how many times the unit has been swapped in.
- Starts at 50% base damage per swap.
- Increases by 25% per swap, up to a maximum of 600% base.
- The multiplier is applied to the number of swaps, which is uncapped.
Example:
- If you swap the unit 100 times, damage = 600% base × 100 = 60,000% total damage.
This makes All Range Atomic a scaling time bomb—the more you swap, the more devastating the attack.
Developer Fixes & Notes
Several fixes have been applied to support the intended design:
- Fixed an error where All Range Atomic’s damage was calculated incorrectly.
- Fixed a bug where swaps were being counted before the ability was unlocked.
The developers confirmed that this was the original design intent, but early miscalculations made the unit underperform.
Why This Matters
With full-map range and exponential scaling, Lord of Shadows is no longer a niche unit. He now rewards strategic swapping and build-up, making him one of the most powerful nukers in the current meta.
If you own this unit, now is the time to test high-swap strategies and capitalize on his updated strength.
