Are you running around Stonewake’s Cross, desperately looking for a Guild Master to change your Class? You are not alone.
Many new players get confused because The Forge breaks the traditional RPG rules. There is no simple menu to switch from “Warrior” to “Mage.”
In this game, your “Class” is defined by your Race and your Weapon. To change your class, you need to Reroll your Race.
Here is the complete guide on how to do it, including the hidden location of The Wizard that most tutorials miss.
Method 1: The “Free” Tutorial (Sensei Moro)
When you first spawn, the game actually gives you a chance to pick your class for free.
- NPC: Sensei Moro (The blindfolded old man).
- Location: Right at the spawn point in Stonewake’s Cross.
- How: Talk to him to complete the tutorial. He gives you 3 Free Spins.
- Warning: Once you finish his dialogue and close the menu, you cannot talk to him again to reroll. You must use Method 2 or 3 below.
Method 2: The Wizard NPC (Hidden Location)
This is the method most players are looking for. If you don’t want to use the Shop menu, you can visit The Wizard to reroll your race immersively.
Where to Find The Wizard (Step-by-Step):
- Start at the Spawn (Stonewake’s Cross).
- Walk towards the main Cave entrance, but DO NOT enter.
- Look to the LEFT of the cave entrance.
- You will see a path going uphill behind the NPC named Greedy Cey.
- Follow that path past Tomo the Explorist (the cat guy).
- Keep going until you see a large building with a tall tower.
- That is the Wizard’s Tower.
- Walk through the door (it opens automatically) and talk to The Wizard inside.
- Select the option: “I want to change my race!”
Note: You still need “Spins” to reroll here. You can get more spins from Codes or Captain Rowan’s quests later in World 2.
Method 3: The Shop Menu (Fastest Way)
If you are too lazy to walk to the Wizard, you can access the menu from anywhere:
- Press ‘T’ to open your Bag.
- Click the Shop Icon (Yellow Basket).
- Scroll right to the “Rerolls” section.
- Click the green button: “Go to Race Menu”.
Stat Resets: The Hard Truth
Changing your Race is only half the battle. What if you messed up your stats (e.g., put too much into Mining)?
As of the December 2025 Update, there is NO free Stat Reset NPC on the map.
- Option A: Wait for a developer Code (They sometimes drop a “Stat Reset Code” on updates).
- Option B: Buy a “Stat Reset” from the Shop (Cost: ~75-150 Robux).
Pro Tip: If you are F2P (Free-to-Play), build a Hybrid Character (50% Attack / 50% Mining) until you hit Level 50. Don’t commit to a full “Glass Cannon” build early on, or you will struggle to farm gold for upgrades.
Which “Class” (Race) Should You Roll For?
Before you burn your spins at the Wizard, here is a quick Tier List for beginners:
- Human (25% Chance):
- Role: Balanced / Jack of all trades.
- Verdict: Boring, but safe.
- Dwarf (7% Chance):
- Role: The Miner Class.
- Verdict: BEST for making money.
- Increased mining speed means you get rich faster.
- Orc (8% Chance):
- Role: The Tank Class.
- Verdict: Great for solo players who hate dying.
- Elf (15% Chance):
- Role: The Ranger/Speed Class.
- Verdict: Very fast movement. Good for dodging bosses.
Conclusion
So, to “Change Class” in The Forge, you just need to visit The Wizard’s Tower to change your Race and craft a weapon that matches your style.
