Controlling Your Zoi (Character)

This section covers all controls directly related to the movement, actions, and interactions of the Zoi you are currently playing.

1. Basic & Fast Movement:

• WASD Keys: Use W (forward), A (left), S (backward), and D (right) on your keyboard for direct Zoi movement, standard for most PC games.
• Left Mouse Click (Click and Go): Click anywhere on the ground surface in the game world, and your Zoi will automatically walk towards that point.
• Shift Key: Hold down the Shift key while moving (using either WASD or mouse click) to make your Zoi run, speeding up their movement.

2. City Travel:

• M Key (Map): Press the ‘M’ key to open the city map view. From here, you can select a destination (e.g., workplace, park, friend’s house), then click the “Go Here” button to command your Zoi to travel there automatically.
• Public Transport (Fast Travel): Look for Subway Station or Bus Stop icons on the map or in the game world. Interacting with these facilities allows you to fast travel to other connected locations within the public transport network.

3. Auto-Action:

• Zois have an AI system allowing them to perform actions independently to fulfill their basic needs (like eating when hungry, sleeping when tired, etc.).
• You can toggle this feature on or off by pressing the T key.

4. Interacting with Objects & Other Zois:

• Click Object/Area: Simply left-click on an object in the environment (like a chair, fridge, computer) or even a specific ground area to bring up a radial or contextual interaction menu listing actions your Zoi can perform related to that object/area.
• Join Action: If you see another Zoi performing an activity (e.g., watching TV together), an option to “Join” will often appear when you click on that Zoi or the object they are using, allowing your Zoi to participate in the same activity.
• Click Other Zoi (Social Interaction): Click on another Zoi (NPC or a Zoi you aren’t controlling) to open the social interaction menu. The interaction options (like chatting, joking, flirting) will become more diverse as your relationship level with that Zoi increases.
• Relationship Menu: Access the list of all Zois your character knows by pressing the R key or by clicking the relationship menu icon (usually depicting two people) in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
• Calling Zoi (Call Over / Summon Here): From within the Relationship Menu, you can use the “Call Over” or “Summon Here” feature to call another Zoi to come to your current location (as discussed in a separate guide).

5. Personal Actions & Interaction Queue:

• Click Active Zoi: Clicking on the Zoi you are currently actively controlling will bring up a personal actions menu relevant to the Zoi themself, such as options to change clothes, send them home, check inventory, etc.
• Interaction Queue: Pay attention to the section (usually at the top or bottom of the screen) displaying icons of actions your Zoi is currently doing or planning to do. You can:
  • Hover over an icon to see action details.
  • Click and drag an icon to reorder action priorities.
  • Click the ‘X’ icon on an action to cancel it.

6. Controlling Family Members:

• Zois who are part of the same family will live together and can be controlled interchangeably.
• To switch control to another family member, you can click their portrait in the Family List (usually displayed on screen) or by pressing the SpaceBar.
• There is also a house information icon (usually below the family list) that can be clicked to see details about the family’s home.

7. Emergency Rescue:

• If your Zoi experiences a bug or gets stuck somewhere and cannot move, don’t panic. Access the AR talk screen (look for its icon, possibly in the bottom right near other icons), then click the “Emergency Escape” button. This will ‘rescue’ your Zoi from their stuck position.

Controlling the World & View (Camera & Time)

This section covers controls for managing how you view the game world and manage time.

1. Camera Modes:

• Camera Mode Icon: Look for an icon depicting a camera in the UI (User Interface) to select different camera modes (if the game offers multiple modes like cinematic, etc.).
• Tab Key: Pressing the Tab key will toggle between Top View (a straight-down view, like classic simulation games) and Shoulder View (camera follows the Zoi from behind the shoulder, offering a more immersive perspective).
• Ctrl + Tab: This key combination activates Free Camera mode, where you can move the camera freely anywhere in the immediate environment, independent of the Zoi’s position. Very useful for taking screenshots or viewing environmental details.
• F Key / Click Portrait: Press the F key or left-click on the active Zoi’s portrait to automatically refocus the camera back onto that Zoi.

2. Controlling Time Speed:

• Manage the speed at which time passes in the game via the Time Panel, generally located in the bottom-left of the screen.
• Use the number keys on your keyboard to change the speed:
  • 0: Pause Time
  • 1: 1x Speed (Slow)
  • 2: 1.5x Speed (Normal)
  • 3: 3x Speed (Fast)
  • 4: 4x Speed (Very Fast)
